Tunbridge Wells Hockey Club was Ashley and Wesley's first ever Hockey Club and thanks to their childhood coach David Judge, they were invited back for an evening session to coach their juniors.
Ashley and Wesley grew up playing for Tunbridge Wells juniors whilst still pursuing young Ice Hockey careers. When the pair moved to Hawkenbury, Tunbridge Wells, they were lucky to have the club's home pitch almost in their back garden and Ice Hockey took a back seat. Thanks to David Judge, the boys Field Hockey careers blossomed from here on. They spent many years playing for the juniors and enjoying Sunday morning training before Ashley made his debut for the 1st XI at 14 yrs old, and it wasn't long until he was snapped up by East Grinstead.
They have 6 senior men's teams which includes the 'Monarchs' development side, a vets' team and a vets' grass specialist team (the Grasshoppers). They also have 4 ladies teams playing in the East and Kent Leagues.
The club still has a thriving junior section – with around 400 junior players and more than 18 teams, they have the ClubsFirst Accreditation from England Hockey which recognises the quality and depth of the club, especially at junior level.
