International Career

He was a member of the England & Great Britain squad since 2005, making his debut when he was only 19 years old in 2006. He has competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. Ashley has won medals all over the world for England & GB including winning Gold at the 2009 European Championships in Amsterdam, Holland. 

He is currently England & Great Britain's all-time leading goalscorer.

He was named FIH Young Player of the year 2009 and is the first English player to receive this accolade. 


Domestic Career

Ashley was born and raised playing for Tunbridge Wells HC before moving on to play for what he now calls his home East Grinstead HC. He made his debut for East Grinstead 1st XI in 2003 when he was 15 years old and was part of the campaign to regain Premier League status for the club. 

Ashley made the move to play professionally in Holland when he was 21 for dutch side HGC. He remained at the club for 2 seasons before returning back to East Grinstead. He made a brief move to Holcombe HC in the 2015/16, before again returning to his 'home' East Grinstead HC for 2016/17. 

He has won numerous indoor titles and competed in the European Hockey League (EHL) for a number of editions.

In 2013 he took part in the inaugural Hockey India League (HIL), India's premier hockey show. He was auctioned off to Ranchi Rhinos as one of the highest paid players in the competition. The Rhinos has since become Ranchi Rays and Ashley has captained the side since 2015. He has won the competition twice in the 5 years it has been running.
